Maryland Environmental Service has a vacancy for a Software Applications Specialist in Millersville. The candidate selected will provide support of application software and architecture in a development, system test, and production environment.
Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a programming related field; or an Associate of Arts degree from a two-year college and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Framework and relational databases, including proficiency with Windows XP/7/Server 2003 or 2008, development of Windows or Web Forms applications, and programming in at least two or more of the following: Visual Basic .Net, C-Sharp, SQL, ADO.Net, Visual Basic 6.0 C++, Java Script, XML or HTML are required. Familiarity with MS SQL Server, ESRI, Adobe Flex, geographical information system and global positioning technology is a plus. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of software, including development, design; database; Internet; word processing and spreadsheet.
Must pass medical exam and obtain security clearance. Also required, a valid motor vehicle driver's license with less than 6 points.
