ObjectFX, a geospatial solutions company based in Minneapolis, has an opening for a Java Developer. ObjectFX products and services are a foundation or complementary technology for a wide range of applications used across multiple vertical industries and organizations, such as Boeing, General Dynamics, the United States Army and United Airlines.
Qualities: The desired candidate is a self-starter with at least 2 years of software development experience. The candidate must work well in a team, as well as perform other duties as assigned with minimal supervision. The candidate must be willing to take on new challenges, learn quickly, and have a desire to work in an Agile process environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop location-based mapping and geospatial analysis software as a member of our product development team
- Develop web applications to support our location-based software
- Perform Test Driven Development
- Design and develop product demonstrations to showcase technology at events and tradeshows
- Research development tools to improve productivity
- Test software for releases
- Provide technical support to customers and internal staff as needed
- Participate in meaningful work for your community, our customers and your country
Requirements:
- Java experience (2+ years in a commercial software environment)
- Familiarity with web technologies such as JEE, JavaScript, JSON and DHTML
- Understanding of object-oriented principles as well as functional programming concepts
- GIS, Geography, Cartography or Mathematics background recommended
- Government Security Clearance desirable
