Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer - USA

If you are obsessed with Rails and specialize in high-traffic, SaaS companies, we want you to develop our platform. You love test-driven development and are the type that takes pride in your deliverables. We are using all the newest toys – the latest versions of Ruby and RoR, agile development, paired programming, and TDD. We’ve got some interesting projects in which you can design and implement products from scratch.

The Job

• Develop our industry leading email marketing platform
• Develop new features and related documentation while maintaining existing code
• Develop and maintain test cases using Rspec, capybara, jasmine or similar tools
• Database design and performance tuning of any new features that you develop
• Share your knowledge with other employees
• Other duties as assigned

Your Skills

• Killer abilities with Ruby on Rails, Linux, and MySQL stack
• Expertise in sharded database systems
• OO design skills
• Experience with one or more caching mechanisms
• Ability to design and implement RESTful and SOAP Web Services within a service-oriented architecture
• Experience with complex server systems that serve high-volume consumer sites
• An intimate understanding of issues involving the sending and processing high volumes of emails would be a big plus
• Must be an energetic 'self-starter' with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables
• Obsessive about learning the newest technology tricks and sharing your intellectual gems with others
• Proven success in leadership roles is a significant plus
• Sense of humor is essential!
