We are building a search engine that will connect users with timely and relevant information, incorporating the Twitter social graph, a massive corpus of real-time information, and multiple interesting signals. We’re looking for a few great people to help us use these features to improve the largest real-time social search engine in the world.

Responsibilities
- Blaze new approaches to search quality, incorporating the Twitter social graph and other unique quality signals
- Define real-time relevance evaluation methodologies for a social search engine
- Design and implement efficient algorithms for ranking search results, filtering spam, adding personalization, etc.
- Conceive of and implement new user-facing features using data mining and machine learning techniques
- Extensive experience programming Java or C/C++ and experience programming in a scripting language
- Familiarity with machine-learning techniques and information retrieval
- Strong background in statistics and probability
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Hadoop or other MapReduce-based architectures
- Experience with search engines, data mining, and relevance evaluation methodologies
- Familiarity operating Linux-based systems
