Summary of Position
This is a position in the Research Group within the Studio Tools Department at Pixar to assist in the creation, implementation and transfer of new technology related to computer graphics film making. The position requires a deep understanding of mathematical algorithms, an ability to collaborate in small to medium sized groups consisting of world-class computer graphics researchers, and skill in rapidly implementing and testing new algorithms.

Please note that this position would be 3-6 months or up to a year in duration depending on the needs of the department.

Who Should Apply
If you are interested in a Research Internship, you must be currently in college working towards your Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree and returning to school following your internship at Pixar.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, prototyping, and testing of new computer graphics algorithms
  • Participation in transfer of new technology to rest of the studio

Qualifications
Our Research Interns generally have some or all of the following areas of experience:
  • Excellence in problem solving.
  • Strong math and computer graphics experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong software engineering skills with expertise in C and C++.
  • BS degree or higher.
  • 1+ years of research experience desirable.
  • Ability to work well with a wide range of personality types.
